Project Overview:
CSS Building Services, a leader in the facility services industry for over 50 years, needed a simple, cost-effective way to track cleaning services at NYC building locations like ATM entryways. Employees often faced issues—blocked access, vandalism—that prevented them from completing their work, leaving CSS and their clients in the dark.

We developed a lightweight, QR code-driven web app using Angular Material. The solution included a mobile-friendly interface for employees to log timestamps and upload photos, plus an admin portal for managing locations, tracking logs, and generating client reports—all without the need for a dedicated mobile app.

Employee Workflow

QR Code Simplicity: Each building location was assigned a unique QR code discreetly placed on-site (like doorjambs). Employees would scan it with their phones to log in—no email or password needed, just a PIN.
Streamlined Interface: Employees were greeted with a simple landing page displaying the building’s location, options to upload/take photos, and a one-tap submission to confirm job completion.

Admin Portal

User-Friendly Management: Built with Angular Material for fast development, the admin backend featured a dashboard with two main sections: Locations and Employees.
- Locations: Admins could view building details, download QR codes for reprinting, track cleaning logs, and generate detailed reports for clients.
- Employees: Admins could manage users, assign PINs, and track roles. Adding new locations or employees was seamless, thanks to modals with required fields and intuitive workflows.
Incident Tracking & Reporting: Admins could filter logs by date range, view image thumbnails, and generate comprehensive PDF reports for internal use or clients.
